Lodge Moose Hunts (Package #1):
Cedar Ridge Lodge is on the boundary between Wildlife Management Units (WMU) 28 and 29. WMU 28 is quickly becoming Ontario's hot spot for moose hunting. The moose population has been rising significantly over the past 5 years and the MNR's data sheets prove it.  We are seeing more and more cows with twin calves than ever before. You will find Cedar Ridge Lodge conveniently located in the middle of our hunting area providing easy access in and out of camp via ATV or a vehicle. Moose hunting in the Kirkland Lake area has been popular for many years and only 6 hours north of Toronto. It is the 3rd best producing Moose area in all of Ontario with over 595 tags available in 2005. Our lodge does not offer moose hunting to non-residents at this time. Guest must supply tags. We currently do not have tags available for Ontario. Tags are available for our BC Moose hunts.

One week accommodation, three meals per day. Grouse & Woodcock abound by the thousands in the area. Often times you will come up on pairs of two or more. Touring the endless logging roads or a walk on one of the trails nearby will produce a limit. Two kinds of grouse found in the area are Ruffed and Spruce. Ptarmigan can also be found within a two hour drive if one wishes to travel.

Feel free to bring your favorite bird dog to assist you in your hunt. Excellent training grounds for bird dogs.

What Sets Our Year-Round Operation Apart From The Rest

We trophy hunt year-round and we’re solely Canadian-owned – no foreign ownership here. All the licensed guides we hire are Canadians who have been guiding with us  for a minimum of five years, some for as long as 14 years, that know the trails, animal habits, and wildlife like the back of their hand. In addition, we only utilize the prime times for the most effective results despite our long hunting season.

For every type of hunter we develop options so you can choose a hunt according to your past experiences, species priorities, and personal preferences and/or disabilities. Our custom services include:

  • Licensed professional guides that give you 110% on every hunt

  • Customized hunts catered to your schedule, heath and physical limitations, as well as special conditions

  • One-on-one options for every hunt

  • Export service and caping of trophies

  • Ground transfers between Vancouver and our ranch via our own bus

  • Small hunting groups suited for family holidays as well as parent/grandparent and child/grandchild combinations

  • Variety of non-hunter adventure add-ons

  • Dry climate, no bugs

With an all-amenity lodge for ranch-based hunt trips, we have the right accommodation and the tailored experiences such as wildlife viewing, pack horse trips, horseback riding, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, yoga, and much more, for accompanying non-hunters.

Lodge-Based Hunts

Lodge-based hunts feature accommodation in a comfortable hunt lodge, with home-cooked meals and a variety of hunt styles to suit your interests and abilities. Hunting is by vehicle, foot, horseback, or snowmobile.

Wilderness-Based Hunts

Wilderness-based hunts take place in our permanent alpine camps and hunting is done by horseback or by foot. Base camps are comfortable and equipped with heated tent cabins and log cabins.

If you’re at the hunt lodge or in a camp, you’ll like our homemade meals. We serve breakfast, lunch (in lunch bags), and dinner. Our menu includes salmon, roast beef, ham, barbecue ribs, chicken, salads, and great desserts.
